» Baggage Information

• Carry-on Baggage

Carry-on baggage refers to smaller items passengers are allowed to carry into the cabin of the aircraft.

All carry-on baggage must fit under the seat in front of you or in the overhead bin.

On domestic flights, First Class passengers may carry on two small bags or other personal items, each weighing no more than 5 kg. Business Class and Economy Class passengers may carry on one small bag or other personal item, weighing no more than 5 kg.

On international or regional flights, First Class and Business Class passengers may carry on two small bags or other personal items, each weighing no more than 8 kg. Economy Class passengers may carry on one small bag or other personal item weighing no more than 5 kg.

Each piece of carry-on luggage shall not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55 cm (long) x 40 cm (wide) x 20 cm (high). Any item that exceeds the size or weight limits or the number of items allowed per passenger will be required to travel as checked baggage.

» Unaccompanied minors

Fares

1. Domestic Routes

Children between 5 and 12 years old are charged 50% of the applicable normal adult fare.
Children between 12 and 18 years old are charged the applicable adult fare.

2. International and Regional Routes

The terms of use for Air China’s international and regional flight tickets apply.

Taxes

Passengers who request services for unaccompanied minors are required to pay the same taxes as other passengers, subject to the same fare.

Service Fees

1. Domestic Routes

For children between 5 and 12 years old, no service fee will be charged. Passengers between 12 and 18 years old will be charged a service fee of RMB 200.

2. International Routes

A service fee of RMB 260, or the equivalent in a foreign currency if outside China, will be charged.

3. In the event that two or more children travel together and request services for unaccompanied minors, only one child is required to pay the service fee.

» Extra Seats

Passengers who request extra seat services are required to make a request at the time the ticket is purchased. Air China's extra seat services include extra comfort seats and extra baggage seats.

Fares

Passengers who request extra comfort seats or extra baggage seats may occupy no more than one extra seat in addition to the seat displayed on the ticket. In other words, Air China will issue two adjacent tickets with the same cabin class and fare for passengers requesting extra seats.

Taxes

Passengers requesting extra seats must pay a double fuel surcharge, but all other taxes remain the same as those charged for comparable individual tickets.

Service Fees

Passengers requesting extra seats are not required to pay service fees.

» Stretchers

Stretcher passengers can only be ticketed in Economy Class and each flight can only accommodate one stretcher passenger.

Fares

1. Domestic Routes

The stretcher fare is eight times the regular Economy Class fare (cabin Y);

2. European, North American Routes

The stretcher fare is six times the regular Economy Class fare (cabin Y);

3. Asia Pacific and Regional Routes

The stretcher fare is eight times the regular Economy Class fare (cabin Y);

4. For children or infants requiring stretchers, the fare is the same as for adult stretcher passengers.

Taxes

Passengers requesting stretchers are required to pay a fuel surcharge calculated using the same multiple that applies to the ticket prices, but all other taxes remain the same as those charged for comparable individual tickets.

Service Fees

Passengers requesting stretchers are not required to pay service fees.

» Wheelchairs and Guide Dogs

Fares and Taxes

Passengers who request wheelchair services or who are accompanied by a guide dog are subject to the same fares and taxes as regular passengers.

Infant passengers who use bassinet services are subject to the same fare rates and taxes as regular infant passengers.
