Dear Passengers,

Recently IATA issued a circular on penalizing a logistics services supplier in Guangxi for having violated the regulations on the carriage of lithium batteries. The carriage of lithium batteries has a direct bearing on the safety of air transportation. To avoid any hazards, the regulations on the carriage of lithium batteries are reiterated here:

1. Lithium batteries are prohibited from carriage as or in checked baggage. The lithium content of lithium metal battery shall not exceed 2 grams, and the power capacity of lithium ion battery shall not exceed 100Wh (watt hours). Carriage of batteries with the power capacity ranging from 100Wh to 160Wh is subject to our approval. Each passenger can carry up to two lithium batteries in carry-on hand luggage. Carriage of batteries with power capacity of more than 160Wh is strictly prohibited.
    
2. The batteries of portable electronic devices must be properly protected against short circuits. For example, the batteries should be in the original package provided when it was sold, its electrodes should be properly insulated and should not be exposed. Alternatively, each battery should be placed in different plastic bags or protection boxes.
