On April 23, 2009, Air China held a press conference at the Renaissance Beijing Hotel to announce the official launching of the Beijing – Chengdu and Beijing – Chongqing Air Express service to take place on April 28, 2009. With fast and convenient flights connecting the economic region of Chengdu and Chongqing to Beijing, the two express routes are expected to boost the economic development of the southwestern region and facilitate passenger travel at the same time.

The Air Express service of Air China boasts several features, of which speed and convenience are the best qualities:

1) Regular departures and many flights  
The Beijing – Chengdu Air Express operates daily between 8am and 9pm, with flights departing every hour on the hour. There will be a total of 30 departure and arrival flights. The Beijing – Chongqing Air Express operates daily between 7am and9 pm, with flights departing from Beijing at half hour intervals and flights departing every hour on the hour from Chongqing. There will be a total of 20 departure and arrival flights. The large number of flights departing on a regular basis will facilitate passengers in remembering the departure time, providing more flight options, and reducing passenger waiting time.

2) Exclusive service zones to minimize passenger hassle 
To simplify the check-in procedures for passengers, Air China has established exclusive service zones, including designated check-in counters and baggage carousels, for Air Express service at the airport terminals in Beijing, Chengdu and Chongqing. To minimize the waiting and check-in time of passengers, Air China has also provided several convenient check-in services including online self check-in, phone check-in, and airport self check-in machines.

3) Flight tickets readily available at the airport to improve travel efficiency
To facilitate business travelers, all passengers who have purchased sub-Economy Travel Class Y, B, M, H, K, L and Q are eligible to board, without additional charges, any Air China flight of the same route on the date indicated on the ticket at the departure airport.

4) Free connection linking Chengdu and Chongqing to strengthen interactions between the two cities
In view of the close economic interactions between Chengdu and Chongqing, and to provide passengers with the freedom to adjust their itinerary, Air China will be offering one free connection service between Chengdu and Chongqing to passengers who have purchased sub-Economy Travel Class Y, B, M and H.

In addition, Air China has also launched flights that depart on the hour or every half hour intervals from Beijing to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Hangzhou, with more than 122 flights daily. Air China will continue to leverage its powerful flight network and air hubs to provide passengers with more a comfortable and convenient traveling experience.
