There has been significant demand for our recent special fares from SFO/LAX/NYC to Taipei. However, we have received many inquiries regarding the travel document requirements and we would like to provide some general clarifications.

For passengers holding a Chinese Taipei Passport valid for at least 6 months and other travel documents, not residing in Taiwan, and is a U.S. permanent resident (green card holder) the following is required:

• a PRC Travel Permit (Lu Xing Zheng) issued by representatives of the People’s Republic of China in the USA.

For passengers holding a Chinese Taipei Passport valid for at least 6 months and other travel documents, and who hold a ROC National Identification Card and have household registration in Taiwan, the following permit and visa are required:

• a Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents (Tai Bao Zheng) which is valid for at least 3 months. (Also called the Taiwan Compatriot Permit, pinyin: Taiwan jumin laiwang dalu tongxingzheng.)
  
  
• a Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents (Tai Bao Zheng) which is valid for at least 3 months. (Also called the Taiwan Compatriot Permit, pinyin: Taiwan jumin laiwang dalu tongxingzheng.)
